Web & Multi-Media Coordinator: Marketing Communications; 37.5 hours per week; Non-Unit Professional Position

Position Summary: The Web & Multi-Media Coordinator will be responsible for the website's day-to-day content management and user experience needs, directing a growing list of web content contributors, and supporting day-to-day email marketing activities. As part of a strategically aligned integrated approach, this individual is responsible for developing and posting new content, maintaining the site's functionality, developing new pages as necessary, insuring ADA compliance, improving SEO performance, and continuously improving the user experience. Monitoring, managing, and training a team of strategically aligned content providers from across the college is also a key priority. The community college story is a unique one within higher education and requires a powerful and innovative approach to convey its benefits in an effective way. Developing integrated creative solutions that support and enhance existing strategic goals is essential. This individual manages projects that are institutional in scope, as well as projects that are driven by internal stakeholder needs. The ability to manage timelines, shifting departmental priorities, and stakeholder expectations are key responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Web Coordination 40%:


  • Work as part of the Marketing Communications team to manage all day-to-day website responsibilities, including: making edits, developing engaging content, reviewing analytics, and insuring continuous improvement of the site's overall usability and effectiveness.
  • Work with the Chief Marketing Officer, Director of Digital and Web Operations, and the Creative Director to insure all web-related activities are aligned with institutional and departmental strategic goals.
  • Develop and continuously refine a set of institutional website guidelines and policies.
  • Manage timelines, budget parameters, and constantly changing priorities to insure all project deadlines are adhered to and all quality standards are met.
  • Manage internal stakeholder/client expectations to insure both strategic alignment and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee web governance software for ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the website's quality assurance, accessibility, and SEO.
  • Utilize analytics to make informed decisions about site architecture modifications.
  • Utilize best practices to insure the site is Section 508 ADA compliant.
  • Utilize best practices to insure a high level of search engine optimization performance.
  • With a focus on continuous improvement, review and stay current with higher education website best practices.

Front-end Web Development 25%:


  • Utilize front-end web development skills to improve site functionality, develop new web pages as necessary, and improve the user experience.
  • Work with the college's IT department to insure collaborative efficiency with regards to all back-end development support responsibilities and expectations.
  • Stay current with WordPress best practices and testing new and existing plug-ins to help determine when potential upgrades are necessary.

Manage Content Providers 20%:


  • Develop, train, and direct a growing list of internal website content editors/contributors.
  • Work with VPs, Deans, and Directors to insure all content editor positions are filled.
  • Maintain editor/contributor access to the website and designated areas using permissions software.

Multi-Media Support 15%:


  • Utilize proven marketing skills to deliver effective and engaging promotional emails to prospects and students.
  • Utilize graphic design software tools (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to provide back-up support when necessary.
  • Utilize digital marketing skills to assist with the execution of digital-based marketing campaigns.

Overarching Goals:


  • Continuously improve the college's web presence by developing strategically aligned content, upgrading the site's appearance and functionality, and continuously improving the user experience.
  • Insure that all web-related activities are strategically aligned with overarching departmental and institutional goals.
  • Insure the college's website vision is effective in helping the community we serve understand our story, our mission, and our intended marketing goals.
  • Review and use analytics to make informed data driven decisions about site content and architecture.


Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as Web Design/Development or Multi-Media, as well as a minimum of five years of professional website management experience.
  • Experience managing day-to-day website responsibilities for a professional organization or business.
  • Intermediate level HTML/CSS coding skills.
  • An ability to use front-end web development skills to deliver site functionality and architecture improvements.
  • A proven track record in the areas of search engine optimization and ADA compliance.
  • An ability to develop effective and engaging promotional emails.
  • An ability to effectively train and manage a team of internal content contributors/editors.
  • A proven ability to use analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong project, organizational, and time management skills with excellent attention to detail and follow through.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively, and in a collegial and professional manner, with students, faculty, staff, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Some experience with graphic design software tools (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in higher education marketing
  • WordPress platform experience
