Program Manager II, IBCOffice of Biosafety

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

The Program Manager manages Institutional Biosafety Committee information, systems and compliance with pertinent and applicable policies, regulations, and statutory requirements. The employee will be responsible for organizing and scheduling all committee meetings, events and IBC trainings, providing programmatic support and management of assigned projects, communication with relevant parties, and ensuring that space and materials are available for all events. The employee will manage the IBC database, notify investigators about protocol expiration, and collate protocol submissions from Principal Investigators for the IBC meetings.   The employee will perform inspections of laboratories covered by IBC review, allowing post-approval monitoring of committee reviewed protocols. He/She must exercise a high level of initiative, collaboration, and follow-through in all interactions and assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required and four years of experience in a role supporting university compliance or high school diploma and ten years of experience in a role supporting university compliance
  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree or higher preferred
    • Work experience in a university environment, specifically experience with project management support to compliance oversight committees in university setting
    • Experience with or knowledge of government regulation of research
