The pharmacy at New Bolton Center has a daytime pharmacy technician position available. Under the direction of the pharmacy manager the pharmacy technician is responsible to perform all duties involved in dispensing medications, inventory management, and providing excellent customer service to all clients of the pharmacy while adhering to and enforcing all pharmacy policies and regulations. Prepare, dispense and label medications for both in patients and out patients following pharmacy standard operating procedures. Stock shelves, check for expired items, and assist in maintaining adequate inventory. Capture fees for all medications and supplies dispensed from the pharmacy. Prepare special medications, epidurals, and chemotherapy while observing safety and sterility protocols. Monitor control substance logs and reconciliation in the main pharmacy as well as the satellite pharmacies throughout the campus. Teach and interact with the fourth year veterinary students and the Harcum students. Receive and unpack daily deliveries. Behave in a professional manner and demonstrate awareness of patient confidentiality. Provide excellent customer service to all pharmacy customers.
HS Diploma, graduate of an accredited technician program or equivalent experience required. The ability to perform dosage calculations required. Effective communication skills with all levels of hospital personnel required. Excellent computer and clerical skills required. Ability to lift considerable weight occasionally. Interest in Veterinary Medicine helpful.
