This position will report to the Associate Director of the Children’s Healthy Weight Research Group within the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.

This position will specialize in developing new features and support the website application known as Go NAPSACC. Go NAPSACC enables national childcare providers to implement and foster scientifically proven best practices and policies in nutrition, infant feeding, farm to early care and education, oral health, physical activity, outdoor play, and management of screen time.

The incumbent must be familiar with standard development tools and best practices to identify and continuously improve user interfaces and customer workflow. The ideal candidate must be productive in several technologies, particularly PHP frameworks, both open source and off-the-shelf. The candidate must also be self-motivated and able to independently balance competing priorities.

Educational Requirements

Master’s and 1-2 years’ experience or Bachelors and 2-4 years’ experience or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.

Qualifications and Experience

5+ years working in software development
2+ years implementing PHP Laravel solutions
2+ years implementing MySQL database schemas
Ability to identify and discuss pros/cons when making software design decisions
Experience building web applications with a Javascript UI framework such as Vue, React, or Angular
Experience building components in an Agile and iterative environment
Excellent communication skills
