Junior Instructional Designer
The Junior Instructional Designer reports to the Associate Director of Instructional Design and works collaboratively with the Online and Digital Education media specialists and subject matter experts to build courses for Temple University students in our Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas. This position ensures consistency of course presentation by following course development guidelines, providing consistent content entry and abiding by all ADA-based accessibility guidelines. The Specialist will also be responsible for building quizzes and exams and creating course-related assets. Facility with learning and using web-based applications is expected in this role. Candidate will be required to regularly update technological and online instructional design pedagogical skills. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Associates degree and at least one year of experience using course authoring tools and proficiency with various LMS systems. Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite. An equalivant combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:*Knowledge and experience working with HTML and CSS required*Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications*Photoshop or other image editing skills*Independent Critical thinking and problem-solving geared toward working in a collaborative technology-driven organization*Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to work with production schedules, deadlines and deliverables*Ability to be detail oriented and to ensure accuracy in course content*Ability to communicate online including email, videoconferencing, and other technology based on communication media
Preferred:*Experience in higher education*Experience working in a technology-driven environment*Experience in learning and adapting online technologies
