The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and HealthSciences invites applications for a full­ time, 9-month, on-campus, instructorposition in the Department of Nursing starting in Fall semester 2020.  Thisposition is for a full- time, 9-month, non-tenure-track appointment at the Instructorlevel with 50% teaching and 50% service. This position is expected to teach 16credit hours per academic year in our undergraduate program and serve as theTraditional Option Coordinator. 

As option coordinator, the faculty memberassumes primary responsibility for program schedules, course and clinicalcoordination, student and faculty advising, admissions and progressions in theoption, program outcome evaluation, and marketing. Other duties include: 

  • Collaborating with campus,college, and department staff for advising, curriculum planning, marketingefforts, and student admission and enrollment. 
  • Assuming leadership role in thereview and development of policies and procedures. 
  • Participating on the nursingleadership team and the department to facilitate the mission, vision and goals. 
The faculty member participates in both internal and external professionalservice activities and demonstrates collaborative interests and collegiality inall aspects of faculty engagement. The position may include classroom, online,laboratory, and clinical teaching in the undergraduate program. There is opportunity foradditional teaching/service in the summer.

This position has been determined to be exempt from theovertime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Salary Range: $60,000 - $64,000

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • The potential employee start date is in November 2020. The exact date is negotiable.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: 

  • MSN Degree
  • Active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado, or ability to obtain by date of hire.
  • Two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience
  • One (1) or more years of experience in a leadership/management role in nursing
  • Two (2) years of academic experience in undergraduate nursing education
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation
  • Previous experience with conducting online teaching
  • Previous experience with standardized testing
  • Previous experience with accreditation procedures
