Assistant Director, Finance and Administration
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the Assistant Director of Finance and Administration for the School of Pharmacy will oversee accounting procedures, project management, and daily activities of the department. The incumbent will support the Assistant Dean with oversight of financial and staff affairs by directing, coordinating and implementing accounting and administrative processes to support and improve the overall efficiency of departmental workflows.
Primary responsibilities; manage and conduct post-award review for all sponsored research in the School, including effort reporting, journal entry transfers, payroll adjustments, animal lab management (eSirius), TUmarketplace purchase approvals, monthly faculty account summaries, and administrative access setup for new awards; responsible for generating Non Tenure-Track contract renewals, Tenure Track contracts, summer salary correspondence, non “10” fund summaries, and approves guest access requests; responsible for approving bi-weekly payroll and overseeing time collection; provides financial reports and analyses upon request, serve as project manager for finance and administration; assess efficiency of current day-to-day operations to identify and implement needed procedural changes; develop policies and procedures for the department and ensure alignment with the School of Pharmacy’s and the University’s strategic goals; assist in management of human resource activities such as training and development of staff, employee recruitment and retention, and routine audits of organizational structure; make recommendations to senior management on department reorganization when necessary; act as liaison between senior management within the School and department staff on work progress, goals, and strategy; performs other duties as assigned.
Required education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least four years’ experience in finance/accounting and administration management. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
