Position Emphasis:

TheSchwartz/Yang Lab seeks an energetic and motivated individual to join ourresearch group.  We are seeking afull-time Professional Research Assistant to assist with clinical coordinationand human subjects research for a new cohort study in the Schwartz/Yang Lab ofthe Department of Medicine on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. 

 

Theassistant clinical coordinator will develop, screen, and follow a cohort ofsubjects at high risk of pulmonary fibrosis that is funded by the NationalInstitutes of Health.

  • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the recruitment, enrollment, screening, and follow-up of study participants at risk of pulmonary fibrosis
  • Communicate with potential participants and administer informed consent,
  • Send sample collection kits, request records and test results, and follow up with study participants to ensure timely completion of all study visits
  • Coordinate study-related procedures for study participants in community health facilities
  • Establish and implement follow-up procedures for the study participants
  • Manage and pay invoices for study-related tests
  • Collect and enter data in study and university databases, file paper data
  • Track participant progress and generate progress report statistics
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls as needed with the study team collaborators
  • Maintain and update study-related recruitment websites
  • Assist with periodic study newsletter writing, design, and mailing
  • Assist with IRB submissions for ethical review

    Conditions of Employment:

    Must be willing and able to occasionally work on weekends whenrequired by project deadlines. (often related to off-campus travel, languages, min age, shiftschedules, physical requirements, etc.)

    Note: This is an essential services position.  The incumbent is required to respond afterhours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shifts duringemergency campus closures.

    Competencies:

  • A strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, and Red Cap is required
  • Data entry of research-related data
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrate an independent work initiative, sound judgment, strong decision-making skills, diplomacy, tact and a professional demeanor

    QualificationsMinimumQualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field
  • 1 year of experience with data entry
  • 1 year prior research experience
  • Additional education, such as masters degree, may substitute for experience
  • Applicants mustmeet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.


    PreferredQualifications:

  • 1 or more years experience with Institutional Review Boards
  • 1 or more years prior database experience (for example, REDCap)
