General Summary

In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, the School of Music maintains a pool of qualified persons interested in part-time, non-tenure-track teaching positions. Applications are accepted continuously and reviewed as vacancies become available. There may not be an actual vacancy at the time you apply.

These positions are represented by the Illinois State University Education Association and may have associated dues or fees.

Illinois State University is located in Normal/Bloomington, Illinois, twin cities with a combined population of 167,000. The University enrolls approximately 21,000 students. The School of Music, one of three schools within the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts, has an enrollment of 400 music majors: 330 undergraduate and 70 graduate students. The School of Music has 50 full-time faculty and 50 graduate assistants.

Required Qualifications

1. Master's degree in a relevant field.
2. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
3. If this position is security sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

Desired Qualifications

1. A doctorate in a relevant field.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
