General SummaryThe Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Illinois State University invites applications for several part-time faculty positions in Spanish, at the rank of lecturer or instructional assistant professor (depending on qualifications). The successful candidates will teach elementary and intermediate Spanish courses. These positions may be renewable. These positions are represented by the Illinois State University Education Association and may have associated dues or fees.
Required Qualifications1. Master's degree in Spanish or closely related field by start date of appointment.
2. Prior teaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
3. State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
4. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources
Candidates able to teach courses on intermediate Spanish conversation, composition, and advanced grammar are particularly encouraged to apply.
