The Center for Behavioral Health (CBH) at the University of Missouri- St. Louis invites applications for a full-time, one-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology. The fellowship provides advanced training in psychological assessment and psychotherapy services and prepares fellows for professional practice in an outpatient setting. The fellowship is a 12-month commitment, beginning in September (start date can be flexible).

The University of Missouri’s Center for Behavioral Health is amongst the largest psychological assessment practices in Missouri and is considered to be the primary provider of psychological evaluation services in the St. Louis region. For over 40 years, we have provided comprehensive, high-quality assessments to some of the most underserved members of our community. The Center maintains strong referral relationships with more than 60 community partners including state agencies, school districts, outpatient and inpatient mental health facilities, and primary care providers. In addition to the post-doc, CBH offers training to clinical psychology graduate students, interns from an APA-accredited program, and has a large staff of full-time licensed psychologists and other mental health professionals.

As a training clinic at the University, CBH remains at the forefront of assessment practice and our staff and trainees regularly benefit from our extensive ongoing professional development program. Postdoctoral fellows at CBH conduct a wide variety of assessments and provide outpatient therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults under the supervision of staff psychologists. Assessments include comprehensive evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults with severe emotional disturbances, forensic parenting competency evaluations, violence risk assessments, psychosexual evaluations, and evaluations of learning and attention disorders. There may also be opportunities to participate in Collaborative Assessments. Common treatment issues addressed in therapy include mood disorders, relationship problems, trauma, and personality disorders. Postdoctoral fellows receive ample supervision.

The fellowship fulfills the post-doctoral supervision requirements for psychology licensure in the state of Missouri. Fellows also participate in didactic training experiences.

Qualifications:

• A doctoral degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) from an APA-Accredited program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. • Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship. • Experience and formal coursework in psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults, and in the administration, scoring and interpretation of intellectual, educational and personality testing of children and/or adults. • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills and strong clinical skills in diagnosis, assessment, and therapy.
