The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of development in advanced MRI pulse sequences and/or image reconstruction/analysis methods and applying these techniques to neuro imaging and/or neurological disorders in children. The successful individual is expected to conduct MR studies on human subjects using advanced MRI techniques. The candidate should have outstanding productivity in both technical and collaborative research as well as a track record of productive independent research (via grant and publication history). Experience in pediatric neuroimaging would be very beneficial.
Teaching responsibilities may include didactic lectures and other form of lectures to research fellows and other researchers in Radiology, Neurology, and Psychiatry.
Clinical responsibilities may include negotiable minimal clinical coverage (MD applicants only).
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include the study of neurological and psychiatric diseases of the developing brain. Extensive collaborative opportunities will include the Lurie Family Foundation's MEG Imaging Center, the Lifespan Brain Institute, the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neurology, Department of Psychiatry, CHOP and the Departments of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics, Neurology, Psychiatry, and Radiology at Penn.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree or equivalent. PhD in physics, medical physics, biophysics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, physical chemistry, or a related field, and be an expert in MR imaging (MRI).
