Job Description Summary:

The Physical Therapy Department at Clarkson University invites applicants to apply for a full time core faculty position. This position is a 10-month tenure or clinical track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with rank and salary commensurate with credentials and experience. This position reports to the Chairperson of the Department of Physical Therapy.
We are seeking a faculty candidate who will contribute to the department and the profession through innovation and collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly interactive and collaborative teaching/learning environment. We are seeking candidates that will contribute well in this environment, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: neuroscience, foundational sciences, acute care, pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and/or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Responsibilities of faculty include teaching, scholarship, service, and student advisement. Ideal candidates should have an academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) with ABD considered, although individuals with DPT and relevant advanced certifications and credentials may be considered. Eligibility for physical therapy licensure in New York State is preferred. If a licensed health care professional, clinical practice time may be negotiated. Such clinical practice should focus on the priority of enhancing scholarly activity and contemporary expertise.
The Clarkson University Physical Therapy program received initial CAPTE accreditation in 2001, with reaccreditation through 2027. A problem-based learning curriculum and small class sizes allow for individualized student-centered experiences. The program is supported by strong clinical partners with diverse clinical backgrounds, actively engaged and supportive of our educational mission and research agendas. As part of Clarkson University’s Health Sciences, the physical therapy program is committed to a shared vision for interprofessional education and collaboration.
Potsdam, NY is the cultural and educational hub of Northern New York, with four universities in the area. In the Adirondacks of New York State, Potsdam is picturesque with much to offer outdoor enthusiasts. Potsdam offers a small town experience with reasonable cost of living, good school districts, and a safe environment to raise a family, yet relatively close to the urban opportunities afforded by Ottawa, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec.
