Summary

The Tulane Center for Sport provides comprehensive clinical care to former military personnel and former professional athletes via the Tulane University Center for Brain Health (TUCBH) and the Professional Athlete Care Team (PACT) Clinic.
  

The Tulane University Center for Brain Health (TUCBH) is a clinical care and research center for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Physiological conditions, and Behavioral Health (BH) conditions such as post-traumatic stress, depression and anxiety. The primary focus of the TUCBH is to care for former military personnel who have separated from active duty.

The Professional Athlete Care Team (PACT) is a unique care model specifically designed to meet needs of former professional athletes. The PACT Clinic provides athletes with facilitated access to comprehensive evaluation and treatment plans.

The Nurse Coordinator position at the Tulane Center for Sport will work within a comprehensive interdisciplinary medical team to assess patient care needs. This position will primarily focus on the clinical coordination for patient relations related to Tulane University Center for Brain Health's (TUCBH) and Professional Athlete Care Team (PACT) clinicians and affiliates. The major function of this position is to provide high-level clinical and operational support for the clinical intake team to ensure goal achievements.

This position will work with the Intake Team on complex projects within (TUCBH) and (PACT) to facilitate processes according to Center for Sport and the Tulane School of Medicine guidelines.  The position will be responsible for evaluating medical records, maintaining documentation for all policies and procedures, scope of service, timelines and special projects. Additional responsibilities may include: responding to patient inquiries, patient medical intake assessment, documentation of medical histories and records collection, referral management, evaluation of program eligibility and health insurance coverage, coordination of logistics, and scheduling of patient care procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered nurse with Louisiana licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Three years professional clinical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in biological science, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, or social work
  • Experience with mTBI, neurological rehabilitation services' philosophy and practice
  • Experience with populations in a military or veteran setting
