Summary

As part of the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic's Community Outreach Program, this individual will provide support to individuals and organizations working to address environmental problems in Louisiana, particularly those affecting communities of color. This support includes screening requests for legal assistance, conducting computer-based nonlegal research, communicating with community stakeholders, and other functions as needed.

Many of the Clinic's clients and its client base have been marginalized in society and include people of color and people from working class backgrounds. Hence, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other marginalized communities.

This is a one-year position with the possibility of additional years, dependent on funding and satisfactory job performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

OR

  • High school diploma/equivalent and three years of work experience relevant to environmental advocacy or community relations (for example: campaigning, communications, computer technology, ecology, economics,  environmental science, marketing, public health, social justice, sociology, or other fields not listed here)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background relevant to environmental advocacy
