Job Description Summary
The Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center and Li-San Wang's Lab. is hiring a database developer to contribute to neurodegeneration bioinformatics research. The database developer will be responsible for (1) developing databases for managing individual- and project-level phenotypes/genotypes, consents, the status of analysis progress, and related file management; (2) contribute to the development of NIAGADS cloud commons, such as data browser; (3) developing new features and maintaining the NIAGADS genomics database that is a searchable annotation resource; (4) contribute to the development and testing of genomics research software and resources at the center and the lab.

Job Description

The Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center and Li-San Wang's lab are hiring a database developer to contribute to neurodegeneration bioinformatics research. The database developer will be responsible for (1) developing databases for managing individual- and project-level phenotypes/genotypes, consents, the status of analysis progress, and related file management; (2) contribute to the development of NIAGADS cloud commons, such as data vrowser; (3) developing new features and maintaining the NIAGADS genomics database that is a searchable annotation resource; (4) contribute to the development and testing of genomics research software and resources at the center and lab.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of programming or systems analysis experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills and expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and SQL programming required. Familiarity with R, Python, SAS, C/C++, Gen3, or web development preferred. Skills and experience with SQL databases, integrating web and databases, and/or genomics/genetics data management preferred.
