Master’s in either Health,Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or related discipline.

Purpose of Job

To provide students and majors with a quality education and with a diverse and relevant knowledge base in Health, Physical Education, Recreation,Sport Management and Athletic Administration so that they can compete and perform successfully on any hierarchical level of athletics or sport.

Scope of Responsibilities

Adjunct instructors/professors must ensure accessibility to students for consultation. They must also prepare, distribute, and submit course syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with program and divisional policies. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Be prepared to substitute for other colleagues within the field or discipline in case of an emergency/absence. Exercise stewardship of college facilities and materials.

Essential Job Functions

Teach course load appropriate to field or discipline
Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning
Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students.
Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs.
Employ available instructional technology, i.e. the internet, tele-course, interactive technology, when appropriate.
Encourage the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.
Contribute to the selection and development of instructional materials in accordance with course objectives.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final rosters to division administrator each semester according to establish deadlines.

Qualifications

Must have a Master’s in either Health,Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or related discipline.

The employee must be professional in articulation. Be knowledgeable of Microsoft Word,Banner, Blackboard, NCATE, SACS, and NASPE Standards and must have great effective interpersonal and communication skills.
