IRIS IT Software Developer IV

The IRIS Administrative Support Office of the University of Tennessee is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of IRIS IT Software Developer IV. This position will share in the responsibility for identifying and analyzing the University’s needs in terms of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software including modules such as Payroll, Time, Benefits, Human Resources, Financial, Travel, Materials Management, Real Estate, Business Warehouse, Workflow and the Enterprise Web Portal.

This position will be part of the team responsible for the analysis of needs and subsequent development and modification of assigned ABAP program components and the impact they have on each employee of The University of Tennessee. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Develop SAP ABAP programs and complex functions using the ABAP programming language.
•Configure, test, document, implement, and modify assigned module(s) of the SAP Enterprise Central Component (ECC) system.
•Provide technical support and documentation for assigned module(s) as well as assist with other modules of the SAP ECC system.
•Identify deficiencies in SAP ECC software, including bug-fixes and new development, and make recommendations for such improvements.
•Work according to specifications and standards, but also provide innovation when only general guidance is given.
•Maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with process owners, technical and functional team members, and users.
•Performs related duties as assigned.

Candidates must have at least seven (7) years of ERP programming/technical experience supporting an ERP system (preferably SAP and ABAP). A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business-related field is preferred, but not required if one has extensive SAP ABAP formal training or relevant programming experience. Candidate must also possess strong communication skills.

Preference will be given to individuals who:
•have demonstrated skill in applying project management principles, methods and practices
•have demonstrated skill in researching and analyzing complex problems and developing innovative solutions
•have experience with configuration of SAP software
•have experience in the development of management reports
