10049267Job Description Summary:
The Work Study student(s) will assist with greeting visitors and/or students and answering the telephone and placing outbound calls in Registrar/Financial Aid suite and the intake and processing of applications as needed.Major Duties:
• Answering and directing phone calls
• Greeting campus visitors
• Preparing mail for the department
• Copying and faxing documents
• Assist with checking and responding to the ASK_EGSC email account.
• Special projects
•Basic computer skills are needed.
•Ability to answer emails
•Ability to provide good customer service.
•Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Position is supervised by full-time staff members that will review work through observation for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final result.Guidelines:
Guidelines include working within the policies and procedures of East Georgia State College and the Board of Regents. Student must maintain confidentiality agreement; provide adequate and accurate information or assistance.Complexity/Scope of Work:
The work consists of related clerical and customer service duties. This position is to provide customer service support for East Georgia State College. Success in this position contributes to the efficient delivery of services to EGSC customers.Contacts:
Contacts are typically with co-workers, other college personnel, students, high school guidance counselors, parents, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, motivate or influence persons.
•The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, or walking. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects.
•The work is typically performed in an office.
