Accounting Assistant Professor

The Department of Accounting and Finance at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for two tenure line positions in Accounting at the assistant professor level. Employment will begin August 2021. We seek dynamic, caring academic professionals with evidence of teaching excellence who are dedicated to undergraduate education in a liberal arts environment. Candidates must have graduated from a regionally accredited institution. Each position requires a minimum of an MS in Accounting or an MBA, although a terminal degree is preferred. Professional certification (post-2004 CPA exam experience preferred) and relevant professional work experience in the field of Accounting are also desirable. In addition to teaching, this position requires advising and mentoring accounting students, fostering relationships with external organizations for the benefit of our students, assisting with curriculum management, participating in campus committees, and engaging in appropriate scholarship.

The Department of Accounting and Finance has a need for candidates who are able to teach either tax accounting or data analytics. The successful candidates will also be able to teach a variety of undergraduate accounting courses at all levels (financial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, and accounting systems) in a liberal arts environment. The standard teaching load is six courses per year.
