The Division of Enrollment Management at the University of Utah is seeking a dynamic, creative, and experienced communications manager to join a fast-paced, results driven MarComm team dedicated to delivering impactful communications to a variety of audiences and driving enrollment growth.

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive and compelling communications plans utilizing multiple deployment channels including the divisional customer relationship management (CRM) system. This includes but is not limited to email campaigns, newsletters, social media, print materials, SMS, web content, and other collateral targeted to primarily undergraduate prospective students, as well as other stakeholders.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Day

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. • Create, manage and deliver CRM communication campaigns, plans, and workflows to achieve enrollment goals.

• Work with functional units (Admissions, Financial aid, Orientation, Registrar’s Office) within Enrollment Management to identify and address communication needs in a timely and efficient manner.

• Write compelling and effective admission recruitment messages.

• Create documentation and communication flow mappings of all campaigns.

• Create and edit HTML email and communication templates

• Plan and assist with the testing of customized communications campaigns.

• Content writing for multi-channel/platform execution

• Create social media plans deployment calendars that are in alignment with department and stakeholder goals and schedules, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google Posts, and other platforms and channels

• Create innovative and engaging web content that fulfills SEO requirements

• Troubleshoot and enhance CRM daily communication procedures, workflows, and data integrity.

• Use data and surveys to measure and enhance message effectiveness and user satisfaction and to create and meet strategic goals and key performance indicators. Data points to monitor may include open rates, click through rates, survey responses, A/B testing, and web analytics. Create and distribute reports and analytics to stakeholders.

• Coordinate with CRM administrators and developers to identify customization needs of components within the CRM.

• An experienced content writer with a proven ability in creating and executing strategic communication campaigns for multiple departments, engaging a wide spectrum of audiences, and creating compelling, multi-channel content, including owned, earned, and paid media platforms.

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency and 4 – 6 years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of assigned department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department.

Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

PREFERENCES:

• Prior enrollment management experience

• Prior higher education marketing and/or communications experience

• Previous experience with CRM software or software that uses conditional merge and filtering functions.

• Enthusiasm for staying up to date on higher education trends and communication strategies.
