Position Information and Requirements:
I. Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Academic Support and Disability Services, the Educational Specialist performs the following functions: Perform direct services for students; tutor general education subjects, serve as a secondary advisor, and academic mentor for athletes, provide basic coverage of Academic Success Center as needed.

II. Duties and Responsibilities
Tutoring: Provide tutoring in many general education classes including Math, English, and Humanities.
Secondary Advising: Serve as a secondary advisor for students on academic probation.
Provide coverage of the Academic Success Center: Cross-train in all ASC functional areas and provide basic coverage as necessary; assist with registration events.
Academic Mentoring of Athletes: Provide academic and advising support for student-athletes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned, which should not be over 10 to 15%.

III. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's Degree.
Ability to provide educational support and assistance for College Algebra and College Statistics.
Ability to provide educational support and assistance for college-level English courses as well as general education humanities courses.
Reasonable knowledge of computers and computer applications for instructional purposes and to organize data and maintain records.
Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
