The Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of bioethics, with a focus on ELSI (ethical, legal, and social implications). Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include working with students and other trainees as well as developing skills in performing primary research in the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of genomics and related areas. He/She will also prepare abstracts, manuscripts and present findings at scientific meetings.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further gain independence in his/her chosen field of research.
