The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of head and neck cancer. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board-certified in Radiation Oncology with a minimum of three years of post-training experience as an attending physician.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical residents and students.

Clinical responsibilities may include the evaluation and management of patients diagnosed with cancer and the delivery of radiation therapy-related care.

Successful applicants should be outstanding clinicians and will have the opportunity to practice in a thriving academic and clinical environment by providing Radiation Oncology services at Pennsylvania Hospital. The successful candidate will have experience building a practice in radiation oncology, with a focus on head and neck cancer. Successful applicants will have experience teaching medical residents and participating in clinical research and trials.

Penn Medicine delivers a broad range of radiation therapy services to its patients, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, partial breast irradiation, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT using Gamma Knife /Cyberknife/Varian Linac). Patients will also have access to proton therapy at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, housing the largest proton therapy facility in the USA, comprising four gantry treatment rooms and one fixed beam room. The Penn Radiation Oncology Department at Pennsylvania Hospital is equipped with a Varian Clinac iX, Varian TrueBeam/Edge with SRS package and Optical Surface Monitoring System, Cyberknife, Gamma Knife, and HDR Brachytherapy.
