The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Chemistry Adjunct Instructor for the academic year 2020-2021. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the UNT Dallas Life and Health Sciences Department. UNT Dallas offers faculty the unique opportunity to help shape the character of a 21st century, learner-focused, urban, comprehensive university.Position Summary:
RESPONSIBILITIES: The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered complete until all required documents have been received.
Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in undergraduate Chemistry Laboratory courses, including General Chemistry I and II for science majors and/or Organic Chemistry I and II.Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Chemistry with outstanding teaching experience in teaching developmental and lower level Chemistry courses
- A Master’s degree in Science Education with at least 18 graduate hours in Chemistry with outstanding teaching experience in teaching developmental and lower-level math courses.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry with significant experience in teaching laboratory courses such as General Chemistry I and II labs and Organic Chemistry I and II labs.
- Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution
- Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
- Experience teaching and developing online courses
