The School of Education at the University of North Texas – Dallas invites application for the position of Adjunct Instructor to teach Bilingual Education/ESL courses for Fall 2020.

The School of Education at UNT-Dallas seeks an individual who will help shape the character of a 21st century, teaching-focused university. Position Summary:

Qualified individuals are being sought to establish a pool of readily available talented persons from which these vacancies can be filled as they occur. The adjunct instructor of Bilingual Education/ESL is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the School of Education. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about teaching and puts student success as a top priority.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications for the position of Adjunct Instructor in Bilingual Education/ESL:

-Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in bilingual education
-Current teaching certification in Bilingual Education/ESL in the state of Texas
-Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills in both BICS and CALP with the ability to effectively teach Spanish content
-Availability for both day and evening courses
-Minimum 3 years teaching public education in bilingual/dual language setting
-Bilingual – fluent in English/Spanish in all four linguistic domains
-Demonstrates ability to follow and collaborate with faculty to provide essential instruction in courses for certification preparation

Preferred Qualifications:

-Terminal degree in the discipline or a closely related discipline
-Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
-Academic experience working on a campus with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty
