Department of Psychological Science

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Psychology faculty position in the Department of Psychological Science. The Department is seeking applicants who complement existing research strengths in developmental psychology. Area of specialization is open, and we welcome applicants with interests in child, adolescent, emerging adult, adult, older adult, and multicultural- developmental psychology.

The successful applicant will have documented evidence of teaching excellence and will maintain a productive research program that can successfully compete for external funding. Strong scholarship, along with a commitment to excellence in teaching and engagement, is expected of all faculty members in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU. Service to the Department, College, and University is also expected.

The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate classes in lifespan development, research methods, statistics, and their area of expertise. The candidate may be required to teach other courses according to departmental needs, and all faculty are expected to integrate research methods and statistical literacy throughout the curriculum. The standard teaching load is nine credit hours per semester (approximately 3 courses). Faculty in the Department teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

A doctoral degree in psychology or closely related area, or its foreign equivalent, is required. ABD candidates will be considered, but the degree must be conferred by the beginning of the contract period.
