The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy is seeking a Kennedy Chair to accelerate the College’s progress on several strategic priorities within the Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center. The Kennedy Center strategic priorities include elevating the impact of the Center, ensure sustainability and growth for the Center, provide business and entrepreneurial education within the College’s curriculum, and advance pharmacy practice through transformation and innovation.
The primary responsibilities for the Kennedy Chair are:
To apply knowledge and expertise related, but not limited, to health information technology, personalized medicine, advanced payment models, regulatory affairs, or pharmacy practice to envision new and non-traditional roles for pharmacists.
Initiate projects that create new and non-traditional roles for pharmacists.
Explore and launch innovative health care delivery model projects that incorporate a pharmacist.
Collaborate with the Center’s personnel to ensure sustainability of projects and initiatives.
Serve as a an subject matter expert on new and non-traditional roles for pharmacists.
Collaborate with Kennedy Center personnel to develop a core set of knowledge, skills, and abilities for a pharmacist entrepreneur and implement them into the College of Pharmacy curriculum.
Lead, direct, and/or participate in the development of revenue generating activities to ensure sustainability and growth of the Kennedy Center.
Monitor the health care environment and ignite efforts that advance pharmacy practice.
Utilize professional networks to enhance the Kennedy Center and College of Pharmacy vision, mission and strategic plan.
Represent the Kennedy Center and College of Pharmacy at the University, local, state, regional, and national level.Required Education and Experience
Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution, and 5 years’ relevant experience, a strong record of innovation and entrepreneurship in the health care field.Preferred Qualifications
