The College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure track instructor positions in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice to begin August 16, 2020. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, advising undergraduate students, directing undergraduate student research as needed, providing service to the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at USC-Columbia, and keeping up with new and developing knowledge and issues in the field. Applicants must be capable of teaching introductory and upper-division courses. While some instructional assignments may include distance delivery, instructors are expected to be available to teach on-campus courses in Columbia.

The positions are non-tenure track, 9-month appointments with teaching loads of 8 courses for the academic year. Renewal of non-tenure track appointments are subject to satisfactory annual performance evaluations and the availability of funds.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must hold a master’s or Ph.D. degree in criminology, criminal justice, or a closely related field or a J.D. at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

Commitment to excellence in teaching and fostering student learning is expected, and experience as a professional in the field is a plus.
