The UCLA Department of Musicology invites applications for part-time lecturer positions for Winter quarter of the 2020-21 academic year. Salaries commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with number of classes taught.
Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music educator with expertise and experience in the in the development of English-language popular music in 20th century, with focus on lesbians, gay men, and members of other sexual minorities as creators, performers, and audience members. Responsibilities will include individual student teaching supervision and assigned undergraduate and graduate music history courses. A Doctorate in Musicology is required.
Applicants should submit the following items: a cover letter stating interest in the position, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a statement of contribution to diversity. In addition, please provide names and contact information for at least three professional references. Applicants may consider including online video links representing their teaching although doing so is not required. The application deadline is December 1, 2020, with an anticipated appointment date of January 1, 2021.
