Job Description:


  • Manage the financial aid awarding, verification and processing for students in your assigned caseload. Advise applicants and enrolled students on financial obligations and educational financing resources.

  • Perform all functions of data and record management for federal aid for the college on a weekly basis, including disbursement and reconciliation. Manage data using a method that facilitates accurate reporting and record-keeping

  • Complete monthly and annual reconciliation for all federal, state and institutional loan and grant programs as defined in the current federal regulations in accordance with institutional procedures.

  • Review/approve R2T4s in accordance with established federal and college compliance rules.

  • Certify and update funds in PowerFAIDS for all private/alternative loans and grants. Communicate with the lender/agency to verify receipt of necessary information needed for them to disburse the requisite funds.

  • Manage the EdConnect/SAIG Information Gateway system; this includes, but is not limited to, importing and exporting ISIRS, updating MPN's and EC's, reviewing the pending disbursement and expiration reports, in addition to reports received through EdConnect.

  • Coordinate cash management, disbursements, refunds and reconciliation processes for aid programs. Check COD and award funds as required for PLUS applications

  • Implement federal, state and college financial aid regulations, policies and guidelines as needed. Keep up to date on new regulatory changes and make recommendations for process enhancements.

  • Provide support to finance department staff for accounts receivable administration, and assist in audit and compliance review preparation.

  • Assist with the information technology associated with PowerFAIDS; new program building, new year roll out, bridge concerns. Run all bridges between PowerFAIDS and CX. Inspecting for errors (3-5 times per week).

  • Attend events for both incoming and returning students as required to support the enrollment management team and providing quality student service. These events are often in the evenings or on weekends and holidays.

  • Additional duties as assigned.



Requirements:


  • Required Degree(s): Bachelor's Degree
  • Required Field of Expertise: 3-5 Years of Financial Aid Experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment in complex financial matters
  • Commitment to collaborative working style
  • Strong computer, reporting, math and analytical skills
  • Competency with software applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Experience with PowerFAIDS software preferred
  • Experience with COD and NSLDS preferred
  • Experience communicating complex information effectively in oral or written formats
  • Detail-oriented
  • The ability to provide timely and courteous customer service for all students via phone, email and direct mail
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment

Work Schedule


This is a full-time, exempt level, benefit eligible position. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. The hours are flexible to the needs of the department and require occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays to participate in student enrollment management events.
