Position description

The Department of Medicine is seeking candidates for an in Residence faculty position, at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level depending on experience. Applicants must have a PhD degree with an interdisciplinary approach to the integration of basic science and clinical research with a focused application of innovative technology in diagnosis in disease prevention and/or treatment. Candidates must be able to perform independent research and teach in graduate-level courses.

The successful candidate will support the needs and objectives of UC Irvine´s Department of Medicine. Responsibilities will include research, teaching, mentoring students, and service on administrative committees.

Applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. degree, with an academic record sufficient for appointment in the In-Residence series at the assistant professor level or above. Candidates must have a strong record of scholarly activity and peer reviewed publications. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent research and but also supporting the teaching, educational and research missions of the department, school and university. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work cooperatively in interdisciplinary teams and congenially within a diverse academic and clinical environment. Candidates with leadership skills and vision for enhancing the clinical and academic components of a multi-disciplinary department are especially encouraged to submit applications.
