Job Responsibilities

The Mechatronics Program Coordinator is under the supervision of the dean, the program coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the assigned instructional program(s). The coordinator is responsible for teaching courses, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating adjunct personnel and student performance, and advising students. In addition, the program coordinator will manage, maintain equipment, ensure the safe operation of all program labs.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

The minimum requirements are an associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or a related field and two (2) years related work experience in mechatronics, automation, and instrumentation, or a closely related field. Preferred candidates will have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with two (2) years related work experience in mechatronics, automation, and instrumentation, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at a post-secondary level who have demonstrated the ability to convey practical knowledge to technician level students. The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience in specification, installation, and maintenance of industrial system control applications in a manufacturing industrial process environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley or Siemens Programmable Logic Controller's, or both, and industrial network communication protocols is essential. The ability to troubleshoot manufacturing automation systems, program PLC's, set-up VFD’s, servo’s, embedded controllers, hydraulics, pneumatics, networking, analog, digital, and power electronics is a plus. Working knowledge of Kuka and/or Fanac Robots is a plus.
