DescriptionSummary of MajorResponsibilities:

 The MGH Institute of HealthProfessions is a fully accredited graduate school located in the historicCharlestown Navy Yard overlooking downtown Boston. The Institute is the onlydegree-granting member of Mass General Brigham (the largest health careprovider in New England). Many of our graduate programs are highly rated byU.S. News & World Report.

 The MGH Institute of HealthProfessions invites applications for a 0.75 FTE,12-month faculty member to joinour Center for Interprofessional Studies and Innovation department. Thesuccessful candidate will have expertise in quantitative methods for humansubject studies with competence in both biomedical and psychosocial sciencesresearch. They will join the Center for Interprofessional Studies andInnovation and consult with faculty members from across the Institute onresearch projects. The methodologist will support students in the School of Nursing,School of Rehabilitation Sciences, and the Health Professions program.


Principal Duties andResponsibilities:

 
  • Contribute to the Institute's teaching, research, and service missions.
  • Engagein their own scholarly work as well as in collaboration with principal investigators at the Institute.
  • Teach (approximately half-time) introductory through advanced statistics courses, to serve on thesis and dissertation committees, and to consult with faculty members on research projects.

    Qualifications


    Required
    • Earned doctorate in biostatistics, psychology, education, epidemiology, or related field with an emphasis in methodology and statistics.
    • Mastery of research design and analysis for health sciences, clinical, psychosocial, and educational research (e.g., experimental and non-experimental design, high-level modeling, item response theory, longitudinal data analysis, Bayesian methods).
    • Methodological expertise in one or more of the following areas: measurement/psychometrics, “big data”, machine learning, the analysis of health outcomes data, or health services research.
    • Proficiency with statistical software.
    • Experience in teaching analytical methods.
     Preferred
    • Record of research consultation with faculty members and students across various scholarship paradigms.
    • Evidence of motivation to collaborate as part of a scientific team.
    • Demonstration of supporting student success.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
