DescriptionEarlham College Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a primary focus in Counseling/Clinical Psychology. The department will also consider candidates with a specialization in School Psychology. Start date is July 1st 2021.

Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesProfessors in the psychology department typically teach 3 courses per semester.In addition to courses in the candidate’s area of interest, teaching responsibilities could include introductory psychology. We are looking for a candidate to provide breadth to the department, particularly in terms of course offerings and research interests. Candidates should indicate in their cover letters what classes they could add to the curriculum. The only existing specialized course that the candidate must teach is Counseling & Psychotherapy, or some equivalent. The candidate will also contribute to the recently developed Social Services major through advising and teaching of the Counseling course. The successful candidate will also clearly indicate how they will conduct research/scholarship at a small institution to which undergraduate students can make meaningful contributions.

Experience & QualificationsApplicants should hold a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field at the time of appointment. Psy.D. will be considered. Candidates should have prior teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness, which could include student evaluations, peer observations, or other similar evidence.
