Normal Work Schedule: 8:15am 5:00pm, limited nights/weekends

Job Summary: The LPN is responsible for facilitating quality patient care and treatment within the scope of his/her license by providing medical/surgical assistance to physicians and registered nurses and by preparing patients for visits. In addition, the LPN may screen calls, schedule appointments and follow-up visits, and provide nursing care as authorized by current certifications.

Additional Department Summary: The LPN partners with the other clinical staff and providers to ensure medical students, residents and other learners academic and clinical experience prepares them to succeed in their post education endeavors. The LPN will also partner with the enterprise services division of the college, including Health Informatics, Medical Billing, Medical Records and others to ensure patient billing and documentation are complete and accurate and follow all HIPPA and other regulatory requirements.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a current CPR certification and have used an electronic health record system in a previous learning or employed role.

Skills and Knowledge: Successful candidate must show the following skills and traits:
1. Ability to perform patient care as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner or other qualified medical professional.
2. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills
3. Excellent communication, public relations and customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
4. Ability to multitask in a fast paced work environment.
5. Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions.
6. Willingness to learn and consistently deliver patient centered high quality customer friendly service.
7. Understanding of the need for strict confidentiality of protected health information and the requirement to follow HIPAA regulations at all times.
8. Punctual and reliable.
