Marian University has a newly created opportunity for a Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing Communications.This senior level position will oversee and coordinate the university’s enrollment and MarCom efforts, as well as manage marketing strategies and campaigns that yield a quantifiable and significant return on marketing investments.The Vice President will have significant experience in higher education, with an advanced degree in a related field and at least seven years of progressively responsible leadership. The person in this position will report to the VP for Strategic Growth and Innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating a cohesive and strategic team through a recent joining of efforts of two critical departments;
  • Developing and attaining enrollment priorities that support the University’s mission and goals;
  • Creating and driving a strategic vision for enrollment and marketing that addresses the diversified portfolio of the university;
  • Collaborating with other administrators and faculty to attract and retain a diverse, competent and successful student body;
  • Collaborating in setting tuition, room and board, and fees annually;
  • Implementing the university’s approved admissions policies;
  • Increase inquiries and enrollment by prospective and current students while decreasing cost per inquiry;
  • Overseeing all aspects of the admissions and marketing operations; responsible for developing, articulating and implementing ambitious strategic enrollment plan to ensure optimum levels of growth across all academic programs;
  • Overseeing the execution of a comprehensive enrollment plan with appropriate goals that include strategies to recruit and enroll all student populations;
  • Provide stability, cohesion and leadership to and ensure efficient operations of the enrollment management and marketing communications teams;
  • Convene and communicate with consistency, clarity, and timeliness with diverse internal and external audiences on enrollment and marketing strategies and initiatives;
  • Actively participate in enrollment and marketing events in order to provide and model leadership, engagement, and continuity;
  • Recognize the importance of the pivotal role student athletes play in the recruitment process and partner effectively with coaches in the recruitment of those students;
  • Identifying and employing enrollment and marketing strategies that clearly demonstrate the University’s vision and mission, both regionally and beyond, to drive enrollment growth across programs in alignment with university goals;
  • Developing annual admission forecasts, predictive models and budgets; building, leading and motivating the appropriate teams to ensure enrollment goals are met;
  • Developing and using existing and emerging technologies to communicate and build relationships with students, families, school leadership and other pivotal organizations;
  • Administers and oversees all aspects of the enrollment and marketing budget;
  • Provides support to the President and Board of Trustees.

    Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • A Master’s degree and at least 7 years of experience in the leadership of enrollment management and marketing functions, or a combination of both;
  • Superior communication and leadership skills;
  • A proven ability to develop, train, and motivate;
  • A commitment to customer service;
  • An unwavering commitment to enrolling students from diverse backgrounds;
  • A capacity to foster positive working partnerships with key institutional faculty, staff and administration;
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set demonstrated by an ability to lead the creation and implementation of innovative marketing strategies with agility, including experience in creating and managing key performance indicators for marketing strategies to evaluate effectiveness and return on investment;
  • A deep and nuanced understanding of today’s competitive enrollment environment and knowledge of emerging trends and promising practices in recruitment, admissions, integrated marketing, financial aid, and retention, with a particularly comprehensive understanding of market trends and prospect development practices across all student populations;
  • A readiness to be part of the University’s senior leadership team, including the ability to lead community-wide conversations about enrollment management strategies and working collaboratively to execute the university’s mission and vision;
  • A commitment to a culture of diversity, respect and inclusion; demonstrated ability to build working relationships with people having a wide variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences different from one’s own;
  • Experience in budgeting and strategic planning, as well as in recruitment, admissions, records and student financial aid.
