General Description:

Urban College of Boston seeks a collaborative and experienced team member to bring their experience in enrollment services and academic records to the Registrar position at UCB. The Registrar is a critical member of the UCB enrollment team and is responsible for the effective management of the College’s enrollment and academic records systems and processes. The successful candidate will have a depth of experience as part of an enrollment and/or academic records functional area and strong interpersonal and analytical skills. UCB has a small staff and, consequently, members of the leadership team have a variety of responsibilities and must carry them out in a fast-paced, data-driven, and results-oriented culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of registration, enrollment, and academic records functions, including room assignments, graduation audits, course scheduling, and transfer credit awards
  • Serve as system administrator for UCB’s student information system
  • Ensure the accurate and timely submission of local, state, and federally-mandated reports, including IPEDS and National Student Clearinghouse
  • Establish relevant workflows and operating procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Coordinate the processing of transcripts, course registration, grade reports, and graduation applications
  • Collaborate with other departments/divisions to carry out the philosophy of a student-centered institution within an integrated enrollment services environment
  • Draft and disseminate enrollment communications to faculty, staff, and students
  • Assist with student concerns and questions, including assisting with student communication and registration
  • Utilize enrollment and other relevant data for decision-making and planning
  • Work closely with Academic Affairs to ensure effective scheduling and communication of program information, including the development of the academic calendar
  • Collect and provide enrollment data to leadership team to help inform and shape College strategy – in recruitment, retention, course planning, and other policies/processes
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations, federal laws and regulations (FERPA), record keeping/data collection, and UCB policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in higher education or other relevant discipline required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an enrollment services or academic records capacity.  Experience in a registrar or academic records office preferred
  • Ability to think critically, strategically, and creatively about the enrollment services and academic records process
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Experience with Student Information and CRM Systems
  • Mission-driven and committed to working at a College that serves multilingual and multicultural nontraditional students
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or Chinese/English) preferred, but not required
