Job Description

The Multi-Channel Designer provides create directions and support for marketing and communication of assigned Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Assists with designing and creation and production of materials for internal and external uses across the multi-media platforms in support of the institution’s brand. Supporting university admissions, advancement, and university priorities, the multi-channel designer is integral to advancing the university brand and reputation through high quality. Compelling and creative products to support an institution-wide portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Managers on line presence by creating and maintaining the visual interface of the website.
  • Manages all aspects of assigned projects, including concepts, timelines, budgets, communications, deadlines, and quality control.
  • Guards the brand and its execution.
  • Translates the brand to different applications.
  • Prepares and reviews printing specifications, including job costing data. Works with vendors. Evaluates and recommends vendors and purchases.
  • Collaborates with internal clients to provide creative direction. Integrates and aligns print and electronic media to comply with style and branding guidelines.
  • Creates interactive web interfaces for online production.
  • Manages and integrates appropriate social media components with new technologies.
  • Collaborates with vendors for delivery of products.
  • Researches and analyzes industry trends and maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and creative techniques.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
  • Four years of related experience in graphic design, web development, print and electronic media, marketing, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Record of highly creative products across multiple platforms.
  • Understanding of audience demographics and preferences.
  • Presentation concept visualization through sketches, drawings and illustrations.
  • Overseeing design changes and improvements throughout the development process.
  • Integrating technical and visual solutions into a design concept.
  • Understanding trends within the scope of the industry they are working in.
  • Using graphic design and other relevant software.
  • Strong communicators who think creatively, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and possess strong problem-solving skills, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Customer-driven approach to creating marketing, storytelling and advertising materials.
