This position will be responsible for designing, setting up, managing and continually upgrading the College’s hybrid server infrastructure (Internal and Cloud based servers). This includes physical and virtual servers, server-based applications, services and cloud service platforms such as AWS and Azure. The primary focus will be Infrastructure as Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) including (but not limited to) databases, servers, server-based applications, operating systems, scripting, etc.

Education

*Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field. (Minimum)
*IT certification(s) directly related to deploying and maintaining windows servers and/or server-based applications. (Desired)
*IT Certification(s) directly related to managing and maintaining cloud services platforms, etc. (Desired)
*ITIL Foundation Training Certification (Desired)
*Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field. (Desired)

Experience

*Three (3) years of experience setting up and maintaining Microsoft servers, server-based applications and services such as (but not limited to) directory services, file and print services, e-mail, database, web, FTP, NTFS permissions, shares, and DNS/DHCP. (Minimum)
*Experience working with the currently supported versions of the Windows Server operating system. (Minimum)
*Experience managing cloud services platforms. (Minimum)
*Experience working with VMware ESXi and server virtualization. (Minimum)
*Experience in troubleshooting Windows server-related problems. (Minimum)
*Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications. (Minimum)
*Experience administering Group Policy. (Desired)
*Experience in setting up and maintaining enterprise SAML based SSO technologies and solutions. (Desired)
*Experience in setting up and maintaining enterprise level storage solutions. (Desired)
*Experience with enterprise backup applications for both on premise and cloud-based implementations. (Desired)
*Experience in administering Office 365. (Desired)
*Experience administering Azure Cloud Services. (Desired)
*Experience administering AWS Cloud Services. (Desired)
*Experience with PowerShell and/or VB Script programming. (Desired)
*Experience administering SharePoint Server. (Desired)
*Experience supporting any of the specialized third-party applications the College currently uses. (Desired)

Responsibilities and Duties

-Design, setup, configure, manage and upgrade new and existing servers, server-based applications, and services. (Essential)
-Design, setup, configure, upgrade and manage new and existing cloud-based applications, and services. (Essential)
-Assist in the design, configuration, management, and maintenance of Active Directory. (Essential)
-Provide support for all College server-based applications/services such as (but not limited to), directory services, file and print services, e-mail, database, web, FTP, NTFS permissions, shares, and DNS/DHCP. (Essential)
-Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software related problems on College hybrid server infrastructure. (Essential)
-Perform the duties of the Coordinator of Network Accounts in their absence. (Essential)
-Build and maintain systems that maintain a high level of reliability, scalability, and availability for applications and services running on College servers. (Essential)
-Analyze, monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness of College servers and cloud-based services on a regular basis using various network and server monitoring tools. (Essential)
-Maintain and monitor an effective server backup strategy that protects the College’s data and ensures efficient data recovery in the event of a server crash, disaster or loss of data. (Essential)
-Provide tier 3 support for IT related problems. (Essential)
-Provide technical support for specialized hardware such as (but not limited to) vending controllers, ID card readers, bar code scanners, POS registers, and other devices used to support third party applications. (Essential)
-Provide consistent and accurate documentation pertaining to the setup and configuration of all College servers, server-based applications and cloud-based services. (Essential)
-Evaluate and recommend selections of new server hardware and software to the Director. (Essential)
-Setup, configure, and maintain server-based databases. (Essential)
-Work closely with the Academic and Desktop Computing teams in the planning and implementation of centralized server-based desktop and application management tools and services. (Essential)
-Work closely with the Administrative Information Systems team with the development, planning and implementation of data synchronization between servers and the Administrative Information System. (Essential)
-Work closely with other College departments in the evaluation, selection, installation, operation, maintenance and support of server-based applications specifically used for departmental needs. (Essential)
-Work closely with the Director of Network Services and other Systems Administrators in developing and designing new server infrastructure solutions. (Essential)
-Maintain current knowledge of the Information Technology Services field by attending seminars/workshop and reading current literature. (Essential)
