Expertise working with poultry pathogens in avian challenge models, data collection from pathogenesis studies, tissue collection at post mortem examination, statistical analysis of data, generation of graphs and tables for presentations and reports, basic virology lab skills including virus isolation, propagation and characterization and bioinformatics.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

PhD in Poultry Science, Microbiology or closely related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

PhD in Poultry Science, Microbiology or closely related field; experience working with chickens in avian pathogen vaccination/challenge models; ability to accurately collect data at timepoints, organize data, analyze data and generate figures and tables in common computer programs.

Physical Demands

Lift 50 lbs, sit or stand for long periods of time, work in hot and humid environments if needed.
