Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

1.Provides leadership and support for the planning and implementation of the Indo-European Union Incentive (INCENTIVE) and Collaborative Influenza Vaccine Innovation Center (CIVIC) Contracts, in accordance with the mission and goals of these contracts.
2. Direct oversight and direction of the operational functions for the accurate and timely processing of grant reports, travel, annual operations, weekly and monthly teleconferences within the Contract institutions and with the NIH, European Union and Indian partner.
3. The Center Coordinator will work directly with the CVI Business Manager, UGA Office of Sponsored Programs, the Co-
Investigators at subaward institutions, with CVI administrative staff, CVI Research Director, Contract Research Administrators at UGA, the NIAID/NIH, and the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI).
4. Utilizes extensive knowledge of budget and grant parameters and staffing levels to coordinate with CVI Director to
reallocate and ensure sufficient funding for all Contract activities and personnel. In absence of CVI Director, may make reallocation decisions following own judgment and known University, NIH, HZI and EU guidelines, keeping the Contract Director subsequently informed and receiving permission from Contracting Officers.
5. Actively participates in the Contract Executive Teams, attends meetings at UGA, within Contract Programs on teleconferences.
6. Effectively communicates with Contract Directors, Primary Investigators (PIs) and co-Is to ensure compliance with grant and contract restrictions.
7. Effectively communicates with CVI Research Director and Contract Research Manager to ensure compliance with grant and contract restrictions, safety regulations, and federal shipping and permits.
8. Develops effective working relationships with college and campus administrative, financial, and education offices including Office of Research Vice President’s office, Sponsored Programs, Innovation Gateway. Uses extensive knowledge of UGA processes and policies.

Supervises and manages the time of the CVI CIVIC/Incentive administrative assistant and the members of the CIVIC Core members, including 4 research technicians generating purified proteins, influenza viruses, generation of reverse genetic viruses, and ferret references sera for immunological assays. The Coordinator will meet at least once per week with the Core team and multiple times per week with the CIVIC/Inventive administrative assistant to coordinate communications and completing documents.

1. Functions effectively and comfortably in high volume interaction with a large constituent base including faculty, students, staff, upper administration, visiting scholars, and others.
2. Supervises Core Staff and meets milestones for CIVIC/Incentive co-investigator’s requests for proteins and viruses.
3. Coordinate and Supervise a one-hour teleconference to occur within 30 days of the award, including coordination of scheduling, drafting, and distributing the agenda, and recording and distributing minutes Manages
4. Work and coordinate kick-off meetings and ensure that key personnel will attend
5. Helps facilitate meetings regarding study coordination between groups to align resources and workloads.

1. Work to develop and manage a detailed project schedule, work plan and timeline by maintain a master schedule for both internal and external study participants.
2. Predict scientific resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
3. Assist in preparation of budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
4. Manage vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
5. Maintain complete, organized and current associated files including study schedules, contracts, protocols and other applicable documents and correspondence.

1.Provides project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about stragegy, adjustments, and progress, also providing reviews back to submitters.
2.Coordinates with Contractors for review & internal and external stakeholders, by communicating project plans, status, and outcomes.
3.Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed while measuring project performance to identify areas of improvement.
4.Other duties within the purpose and scope of this position.
