Job Summary Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for a Foreign Language instructor for the 2020 Upward Bound Summer Academy. Upward Bound is one of six Federal TRIO Programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, supplementing their existing education and preparing them for academic success at all educational levels. The Upward Bound Program at Atlanta Metropolitan State College currently serves over 100 high school students from various Clayton County high schools. Positions are available beginning June 8, 2020 and ending on July 17, 2020.

The Foreign Language Instructor position is a temporary part-time non-exempt position that reports to the Upward Bound Director. Applicants will provide virtual instruction to students that will be entering their sophomore through senior year of high school in the Fall of 2020. Applicants will assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them Monday - Thursday throughout the Summer session. Six week summer program not to exceed eight hours of work per week.

Required Qualifications Bachelor or Master’s degree in related subject area. Two years of teaching experience/instruction at the high school or college/university level. Ability to work with diverse and underserved students.
