The Georgia Institute of Technology (“Georgia Tech”) is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading research university. Equipped with the extremely rich resources of an outstanding student body, faculty and staff; strong partnerships with industry and government; and support from alumni and friends, Georgia Tech is designing a future of global preeminence, leadership, and service. With its main campus located in midtown Atlanta, Georgia Tech offers an innovative education to more than 36,000 undergraduate and graduate students attracting talent from every state and 149 nations, in both innovative online and residential formats.

The quality of the Georgia Tech educational experience is reflected in at least two important ways: consistently strong rankings by national publications and a highly regarded curriculum with a technological focus. All of its undergraduate programs, including liberal arts, are bachelor of science degrees. It offers degrees through the Colleges of Computing, Design, Engineering, Sciences, the Scheller College of Business, and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. Georgia Tech is ranked eighth among public universities in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

Georgia Tech became the first institution in a decade to receive an invitation to join the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU), and its research funding has nearly doubled within the past ten years. It has more than 100 centers focused on interdisciplinary research that consistently contribute vital research and innovation to American government and business. Georgia Tech Research Institute (“GTRI”) is the nonprofit, applied research division of Georgia Tech that performs almost $500 million of research annually for government and industry.

Georgia Tech seeks as its Provost an innovative and creative academic leader who will promote continued excellence and innovation for the Institute and who is deeply committed to inclusion, supporting diversity in all forms, and promoting the well-being of the academic community.

The next Provost will step into this role during a time of great opportunity and an exciting future for the Institute. Since his arrival in 2019, President Ángel Cabrera has launched a strategic planning process, “Designing the Future,” in which the Provost will play a significant role in shaping the goals and moving the strategy forward.

Initial screening of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Georgia Institute of Technology will be assisted by Jackie Zavitz, Ellen Brown Landers, and Kaley Palanjian of Heidrick & Struggles, Inc. Nominations and applications should be directed to:
