Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by providing leadership to the team through scheduling, orienting and providing exemplary customer service to students. Work involves the ability to troubleshoot registration issues and to orient students on registration. General supervision is received from the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Working skill in professional interactions to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
3. Working skills in verbal and written communication.
4. Working skills in team leadership, organization, scheduling and decision making.
5. Good knowledge of MS Office Suite.
6. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Leadership experience.

Essential Duties:

  1. Train students and staff to navigate the AccessECC website; respond to questions regarding use of web services and make referrals to appropriate services and personnel when necessary.
  2. Coordinate the work of a team of Technical Enrollment Facilitators and student workers, to ensure students receive prompt helpful attention to their computer issues.
  3. Work with other departments to ensure school calendars, building and security information, etc. is accurate and up-to-date.
  4. Identify and propose resolutions to AccessECC issues in collaboration with appropriate IT personnel.
  5. Assisting students and staff at the First Stop information desk may require standing for periods of time during high volume periods.

Other Duties:

  1. May be required to provide back-up for registration, as needed.
  2. May be required to work evenings and Saturdays during peak periods of registration and special events, i.e., orientations and graduations.
  3. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  4. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Streamwood Center: In 1998, the college and Village of Streamwood remodeled the lower level of Village Hall to include computer and general purpose classrooms. Classes offered there make it easier for those who live in the eastern portions of ECC’s district to attend college.

Satelitte Campuses: ECC holds classes throughout the northwest suburbs at off-campus locations scattered across the district. Whether it is a medical center where ECC nursing students assist in patient care, a fire station where students transform into prospective lifesavers, or a nearby forest preserve where bird watching takes over on Saturday mornings, ECC classes are somewhere nearby.
