Job Description

Position Summary

The Missouri Institute for Defense & Energy is seeking to hire a post doctoral associate with expertise in experimental condensed matter physics, including electrical equipment and characterization, lasers and optics, high vacuum equipment and material deposition, materials and device characterization, and running simulations using generic code (e.g., Python) or specialized simulation packages. It is expected that the candidate be self-motivated to answer questions and solve technical issues, while being a team player and working as part of a larger team. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.

Position Duties

  • Create, execute, and analyze simulations using TCAD, COMSOL, or other relevant physics simulation packages
  • Direct and perform experimental activities and analyses
Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Physics, Engineering, or similar degree

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with electrical/electronic equipment, lasers and optics, ultra-high vacuum equipment, and physics simulations packages (TCAD, COMSOL, etc.)
