A Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university. Eligibility for employment in the United States. The candidate selected will teach a wide range of undergraduate classes across the psychological field, including human development, cognition, human sexuality, health psychology, and research methods.

Preferred

A focus in developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, or health psychology.

Primary Responsibilities

Teach junior and senior level psychology courses with course load of 12 course hours per semester (four courses per semester). Course delivery includes face-to-face, teleconference, and online formats. Other responsibilities include student advising, program assessment/coordination, committee work, and engagement in scholarly inquiry. Travel to three teaching sites as needed. Summer teaching might be an option.

Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

This position is security sensitive.

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.

About SRSU

Rio Grande College (RGC) is an upper level teaching division of Sul Ross State University with campuses in Del Rio, Eagle Pass and Uvalde. MRGC is a non-residential university offering undergraduate and graduate courses in the Humanities, Behavioral and Natural Sciences, Business, and Education. MRGC serves approximately 1,000 students per semester in the middle Rio Grande region. Most students are part-time, first generation in college students.
