PROVOST

Walsh College of Accountancy & Business Administration seeks an outstanding academic leader to work with the President and the Board of Trustees to build upon its 100 years of excellence in education and as a partner with the regional business community. Walsh is a private, independent, non-profit, and upper-division institution based in Troy, Michigan. Founded in 1922, Walsh provides a transformative education that combines theory, application, and professional experience to prepare graduates for successful careers.

Walsh offers business and information technology degrees at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. About 60% of Walsh's 2,800 students are pursuing graduate degrees, making it one of Michigan's largest graduate business schools.

Walsh seeks a highly experienced and nimble academic leader accomplished in leading change and thoroughly knowledgeable about preparing adult students who are serious about their career aspirations. The Provost will be well informed about the higher education landscape, including the use of alternative and flexible delivery modes.

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate, with preference for candidates who possess one degree in a business discipline or in IT. Private sector experience is a plus. Candidates should have previous experience as an academic dean or academic department head, extensive experience with assessment of student learning and accreditation, success in fostering innovation and continuous improvement, a commitment to shared governance, and enthusiasm for finding opportunities in the rich surrounding area to build upon Walsh's prominence and history of successful partnerships.

Academic Search is assisting Walsh with this search, and nominators and prospective candidates may direct inquiries to the senior consultant, Dr. Sharon Herzberger at sharon.herzberger@academicsearch.org. For additional information about Walsh, this opportunity, qualifications, and the application process, please visit the Academic Search website and click "Download Profile" on the left under the Walsh logo. Applications may be sent in complete confidence to WalshProvost@academicsearch.org. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled, with full consideration given to all applications received by Wednesday, June 24, 2020. The Provost's search is taking place concurrently with the search for the next president of Walsh, with the candidate pool created for the newly named president's consideration.

Walsh values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity for all persons regardless of age, color, disability, ethnicity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status or any other status protected by law.
