Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach four communication-related classes (12 hours) per semester; The faculty member should be prepared to teach general education courses as well as upper-division courses required for the communication major
  • Engage in scholarly research
  • Serve on committees
  • Advise students
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Communications (in hand by August 2019) or a related field is required; Preference will be given to the candidate who has a specialty and/or work experience in new or emerging media and communication technology
  • Candidates with experience candidates who have experience teaching both online and in a traditional setting are encouraged to apply
  • Collegiate teaching experience and a record of scholarly activity are preferred
  • Candidates with the ability to bridge communications and other interdisciplinary programs are encouraged to apply

Salary
Commensurate with education, training and experience
