Position SummaryThe Department of Surgery at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible plastic surgeon to join its faculty and staff. We have an opportunity for an academic plastic surgeon at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to join our College. This full-time position is designed to foster the development of an academic surgeon with a focus in plastics. Support the oncological surgery goals. Assist with high volume of general plastic surgery and breast reconstruction work. Assist with coverage of the hand/facial trauma call schedule.
The candidate will be expected to become an integral member of a busy clinical and academic surgery practice. As a member of the department, participation in research, QI, peer review, and resident selection, resident and medical student mentoring and training, as well as faculty development, are required.

Desired QualificationsThe academic surgeon must possess strong leadership, and team building skills. The preferred candidate is board certified, with 2 - 5 years of clinical experience, 2 years of experience as a core faculty member in an accredited residency program, and demonstration of scholarly activity.
